The company was founded in 2007 and has been regulated by the Cypriot financial regulator CySEC since 2011. Despite its international orientation, the broker is still relatively unknown in Europe. The online broker Swissquote is part of the Swissquote Group and based in Switzerland. The broker is subject to the control of the Swiss Federal Financial Supervisory Authority FINMA and describes itself as the "most important online bank in Switzerland".
