LYNX Review 2025 - Is it a Scam? Fees, leverage, minimum deposit
Founded in 2006, the online broker LYNX is headquartered in Amsterdam and regulated by the Dutch securities regulator AFM. The German branch is regulated by BaFin. However, according to our LYNX review, the accounts are managed through Interactive Brokers, one of the largest brokerage houses in the world, in London. LYNX has also been active on the German and Belgian markets since 2008. The broker is not a pure forex broker, as our LYNX review shows. Via LYNX, traders can trade stocks, options, warrants, futures, certificates, forex (STP brokers), ETFs, ETCs and CFDs in real time on more than 100 stock exchanges in 20 countries worldwide. According to our LYNX review, this offer is particularly aimed at experienced and active traders who want to trade independently and in various markets at favourable conditions.
The online broker LYNX offers traders extensive trading opportunities on over 100 exchanges in 20 countries. Stocks, options, warrants, futures, certificates, forex (STP brokers), ETFs, ETCs and CFDs can be traded worldwide easily and quickly via LYNX. More than 50 currency pairs are tradable in Forex.
While brokers generally earn their money on the spread, i.e. the difference between the buying and selling price, LYNX combines the best buying and selling prices of all brokers in interbank trading. LYNX does not perform a surcharge over additional pips, so there is no question of a rip-off on this point either. The spread (from 0.5 pips in EUR/USD) is therefore minimal. Traders can gain favorable experiences. However, LYNX charges commissions for this. For a Forex transaction LYNX calculates 0.4 basis points (1 basis point = 0.0001) multiplied by the transaction value, at least four US dollars per transaction. LYNX does not have to shy away from a forex broker comparison regarding costs: On its homepage, LYNX compares its total costs per trade with those of other brokers and thus does not even raise any suspicion of fraud. In most cases, 2.5 percent of the transaction value is required as collateral (margin). The maximum leverage is therefore 1:40.
Our LYNX review has shown that trading on over 100 stock exchanges in 20 countries is possible. Numerous promotions, warrants, futures and CFDs can be traded among others. Over 50 currency pairs are available for Forex trading. The spreads are comparatively low at 0.5 pips and the commission fee of 4 US dollars is also quite respectable.
LYNX Broker trades via the "TraderWorkstation 4.0" trading platform, which was once again named one of the best on the market in 2012 by a broker analysis of the Barron's trading magazine. The trading platform was awarded above all for its user-friendliness, reliability, stability and technical superiority. Such features naturally ensure that LYNX Broker can also offer its services seriously and reliably.
The advantages of this Forex trading software are, according to our LYNX review, obvious. Over 50 order types and order supplements are supported. For a comprehensive and professional analysis, more than 70 technical indicators are available. This makes it quick and easy to examine the price developments of foreign exchange, equities and futures. Traders receive real-time news via RSS feeds and can view fundamental data and balance sheet information and retrieve historical price information at any time. The trading platform is available for download for the most common operating systems (Windows, Macintosh and Linux).
Alternatively, LYNX offers a web browser version (WebTrader). The application can be called from any Internet-enabled computer and does not have to be downloaded first. Even with the web-based version, LYNX makes no compromises in functionality and possibilities. Stocks, options, futures, currency pairs and CFDs can be traded on over 100 stock exchanges. With the scan function all relevant markets can be scanned. BookTrader gives a direct insight into the order book at any time. Furthermore, insight into real-time market data is possible.
With the trading platform TraderWorkstation 4.0, the broker LYNX offers its customers the best possible conditions for efficient and professional online trading. The software has already received several awards for its functionality and intuitive handling. A web-based version is also available.
Mobile trading applications have become an integral part of the lives of most traders. Hardly anyone wants to be tied exclusively to their home PC when it comes to managing their account or placing trades. LYNX has also recognized the need for an app and makes it available to its customers free of charge.
Friends of mobile trading can look forward to a mature mobile trading app. The trading account can be managed quickly and easily. The trader gets an overview of all positions and open orders. You can create your own watch lists or view real-time prices. Order entry is uncomplicated and quick. Never again will traders miss a lucrative trading opportunity and can make important trading decisions at short notice.
The trading apps are available for the operating systems iOS, Blackberry and Android and can be downloaded free of charge from the respective app store.
With its mobile applications, the broker LYNX creates freedom for its customers and enables flexibility in trading. The mobile applications are available free of charge for iPhones, Android and Blackberry smartphones.
You can try trading with a demo account for an unlimited period of time, which is equipped with a virtual starting capital of one million US dollars. In this point, the Dutch broker differs very clearly from many competitors in the review, who set much lower upper limits for the test trading volume. If a securities account is to be opened, an application form must be completed online. The customer will then receive by mail within one to three working days without obligation, information documents about LYNX and all necessary documents for opening the securities account. This secure procedure and the associated authentication process prevent LYNX fraud by third parties from outside. As soon as the documents have been returned, the online depot will be opened.
A LYNX deposit is possible by bank transfer. The minimum deposit is EUR 4,000. For a LYNX withdrawal the customer must log in under "Account Management". Money can only be transferred to an account in your own name, which LYNX has already been notified of - another security advantage in the LYNX review. The amount will then be credited to a German account within one to two working days.
A trading account with LYNX must first be applied for online. Traders will then receive all the necessary information and documents by post. The minimum deposit is 4,000 euros and is comparatively high. Who would like to get to know the broker however only once noncommittal, that can take up a free demo account, with a starting capital of 1 million US Dollar.
LYNX regularly offers webinars on various topics, such as the available trading modules or live trading, on the US stock exchanges. Introductory training materials for trading beginners or research in the form of market analyses or news are not available.
According to our LYNX review, German-speaking customer support is available from Monday to Thursday from 8 am to 8 pm and Fridays from 8 am to 6 pm via a free telephone hotline, by fax or e-mail. Emails are answered by LYNX within six hours. Outside these hours, IB's English-speaking international support is available in the USA.
In our LYNX review we have also looked into the bonus offers. Especially in the area of online trading it is not uncommon to go hunting for customers with a Forex bonus. The competitive pressure among brokers is sometimes enormous. It is therefore hardly surprising that many retail brokers are coming up with more and more ideas in order to win new customers for themselves or to bind existing customers even more firmly to themselves. From bonuses for the deposit to bonuses for recruiting new traders, everything is included.
But if you are looking for a promotional bonus at LYNX, you won't find it at the moment. The broker currently has neither fixed nor time-limited bonus programs. Review has shown, however, that it is quite possible that LYNX will also offer customer bonuses in the future. It is definitely worthwhile to visit the broker's homepage from time to time and to inform yourself about the latest status.
Like many other online brokers, LYNX attaches great importance to security and reliability. This includes the fact that the broker is strictly regulated by a competent financial supervisory authority. Our LYNX review has shown that supervision by the German Federal Financial Supervisory Authority (BaFin) takes place. The broker is also regulated by the Dutch Securities and Markets Authority (AFM) and the Dutch Central Bank (DNB).
Protecting client funds is also a very important issue at LYNX. As our LYNX review shows, traders' investments are managed separately from company funds. This means that customer funds remain untouched even in the event of insolvency. The trading accounts are not managed by LYNX but by the parent company Interactive Brokers UK. As a result, the deposits per creditor are secured with up to GBP 50,000. In addition, IB UK's parent company, IB LLC, provides deposit protection of up to $30 million per trader.
LYNX's all-round offering is aimed at experienced and advanced traders who want to trade shares, CFDs, Forex or even futures and options in an international environment at low cost via a powerful trading platform, but do not want to do without an attentive customer service. The TraderWorkstation may need some training, but traders will appreciate the extremely low commissions, especially in international stock trading (from a few US dollars per trade). LYNX is a Forex-STP-Broker, which guarantees an absolutely fast and fair order execution, so that with LYNX rip-offs with excessive spreads are not to be feared. In addition, there is regulation in Germany (BaFin) and the Netherlands (AFM) as well as deposit insurance in the UK, so that our LYNX valuation is very positive and the broker can be classified as reputable.
